About Idyllic Beach House

Where are we?

For 40 miles Highway 101 turns inland between Tillamook and Lincoln City. Tierra Del Mar is located in the middle of a very quiet 10- to 15-mile stretch of white sandy beach that runs from Cape Kiwanda to Cape Lookout.

Running along the coastline, and unknown to most travelers, is beautiful Three Capes Road. Nestled in the 15-mile stretch between Cape Kiwanda and Cape Lookout is the secluded village of Tierra Del Mar. Its location on this little-known coastal road shelters this nook of the coast from hordes of beach-seekers, although it is located due west of Portland.

This is the Oregon Coast of the old days…even at the height of the summer season you can usually walk for miles without encountering another person.

At one end of the beach is an estuary, a favorite for countless species of sea birds – herons, eagles, cormorants, etc., as well as nesting areas for many. It is also extremely popular with the seals, who will often follow you, keeping just off shore, as you walk along the beach, popping their heads up to watch your progress. A lovely return trip from the estuary is to walk along the numerous remote trails that run from the estuary through the delicate shore pine/grassland/dunes area that parallels the beach and connect to Tierra del Mar.

Guardenia Street House

Pet Friendly Beach Rental

Quiet and secluded…nestled at the edge of native hemlock and Sitka spruce forest, this extensively remodeled home is a pleasant stroll to the beach down a 1-block-long gravel road, dead-ending at the beach. An immense juniper deck wraps around 3 sides of the house, a perfect place to immerse yourself in the subtle sounds and scents of the forest, just a few feet away, with the ever-present roar of the ocean as accompaniment. Watch for the many birds & deer who visit regularly.

Pier St House

Pet Friendly Beach Rental

The Pier Street House is just a short stroll from the Guardenia Street House and is even closer to the beach. Located halfway down a one-block-long rustic road, our house is just a few hundred feet from the beach. Beach access involves a stroll past the few houses to the end of the road, which ends at a shore-pine-covered rise with a short, easy path to the beach. The house is quiet and private yet still a part of this old-fashioned, rural micro-neighborhood.

As always the house was perfect and the weather mostly cooperated we walked the beach at low tide with our dogs took a ball thrower after a few runs on the sand they were wore out, caught one awesome sunset, bought some fire wood from the local store in Pacific city and got the wood stove going, which made it quite cozy for my wife and me and the dogs, we are going to try and come back this summer i saw the belly boards and i am going to take one out and try it.Back to the house, the new upgrades in the home are wonderful, now my wife wants to redo our floors, the new couch was a disappointment till we found out that it opened up, i am glad that we found out on the last night we were there and it was the night we had wood stove going, definitely coming back for another trip,

We really enjoyed our stay at the Guardenia Street House. It is a beautiful, cozy cabin tucked into the woods with very convenient access to an amazing stretch of beach.
